The Sphere Handbook is the oldest initiative in the field of humanitarian standards and has recently been updated. The Sphere Standards have been field-tested over twenty years, updates ensure it remains fit for purpose in a changing world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and KUNO, the Platform for Humanitarian Knowledge Exchange in The Netherlands, invite you to an expert meeting on the Sphere Standards on Monday 19 October (time to be announced) in The Hague.
In the first part of the expert meeting participants will be updated on the renewed Sphere Standard by trainers Tristan Hale and Axel Schmidt. You can read more about them below.
In the second part of the workshop, a discussion will be facilitated on the application of the Sphere standards, including the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), in the work of NGOs and donors. To kick-start the discussion in the second part of the session, a representation of a NGO and MoFA will pitch the use of Sphere and CHS in their respective organisation.
After the expert meeting there is the opportunity for drinks & networking.
