From emergency response to recovery - a learning session

From emergency response to recovery
Moving from emergency response to recovery is a challenge - both from the perspective of humanitarian action professionals, and from the perspective of development cooperation.
To share good practices and lessons learned the ‘hard way’, and to reflect on key challenges, KUNO presented this learning session for humanitarian and development cooperation professionals. We looked at different contexts: the context of natural disasters in lower middle income countries (such as The Philippines and Nepal); and the context of a lower middle income country with conflict as well as natural disasters (Haiti).

Speakers

  • Inge Leuverink, Advisor Humanitarian Assistance, Cordaid: the resilient recovery method of Caritas (for natural disaster contexts).
  • Margot de Greef, former Country Representative Haiti, Church World Service.
