Information session on the new Dutch humanitarian strategy

Information session on the new Dutch humanitarian strategy 4
By invitation only

About the session

Since the publication of the Dutch humanitarian policy Mensen Eerst: Nederlandse koers Humanitaire Diplomatie en Noodhulp (2019), the humanitarian landscape has changed significantly. Needs have increased, crises are longer and more complex, funding gaps have widened, and pressure on humanitarian access and the safety of aid workers has grown. In light of these developments, the Netherlands is updating its humanitarian strategy to clarify where Dutch humanitarian action can add most value within the broader foreign policy framework.

The Department for Stability and Humanitarian Aid (DSH) highly values the expertise, experience, and perspectives of humanitarian partners in shaping the new humanitarian strategy. In particular, DSH welcomes the voices of local partners, alongside those of international agencies and intermediary organisations.

The session will introduce the ambitions and key priorities of the new strategy and invite your initial reflections. This is part of a broader process in which reflections are also gathered from governmental departments and other key stakeholders. In this session, DSH would like to hear your ideas on how the Netherlands together with its partners can work together and ensure complementarity can reinforce each other.
