He returned to India and started his own organisation in 2016: HAI: Humanitarian Aid International; a humanitarian organisation based on the values of the people in India.

2-Apr-24 | Article Kees Ton has just returned from eastern Chad where he visited relief projects on behalf of Stichting Vluchteling. Since April 2023, around 700,000 people from the Sudanese region of Darfur have fled from violence and sought protection in Chad, where huge refugee camps have been set up around 50 kilometers from the border. The United Nations states that in Sudan, around 18 million people are on the verge of famine.
Working for a year near the Ukrainian frontlines

He lived there for over a year and just arrived back in the Netherlands. He was part of the team in Odesa, not very far from the Ukrainian frontlines and shared an impressive diary with KUNO over the months that he was working there. Now he reflects and looks back on his time.
