Caribbean Film Days in support of Hurricane Melissa Relief
Presented by Caribbean Creativity and the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce in Europe.
From November 22–30, 2025, Caribbean Creativity, in collaboration with the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce in Europe, presents the inaugural Caribbean Film Days! Hosted on YardVibes, a streaming platform dedicated to independent Caribbean filmmakers, this 9-day online festival offers you the chance to stream a wide variety of films from across the Caribbean.
Scroll down to explore the 35+ Caribbean films curated for the Caribbean Film Days. Click any title to learn more and rent it on Vimeo on Demand.
In light of the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa across the Caribbean, particularly in Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, the upcoming Caribbean Film Days will be dedicated to supporting affected communities throughout the region. This means that all proceeds from the film rentals during the online festival, running from November 22–30, will go to relief and recovery efforts. We invite all film lovers, supporters of the Caribbean, and everyone committed to solidarity and (climate) justice to join us in celebrating Caribbean cinema while contributing to hurricane relief. Together, we can support these Caribbean islands to recover, rebuild, and rise again.

We extend our deepest sympathy and support to everyone across the Caribbean impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Our hearts are especially with Jamaica, where Melissa struck as one of the most powerful hurricanes on record. The devastation across the island was and is immense, particularly in the western parishes. The hurricane created a path of destruction, ravaging buildings, roads and vegetation, and bringing over 1m of rainfall and storm surges up to 4m. Melissa left much heartbreak and hardship in its wake, but Jamaica will rise again. As Portland876 expressed, “we have faced storms before, and each time, the Jamaican spirit has proven unbreakable.” This spirit extends to the entire Caribbean. As Exceptional Caribbean wrote, “Hurricane Melissa has torn through Jamaica and Cuba, and now heads toward the Bahamas (…), but even in the eye of the storm, the Caribbean spirit stands unbroken.” They also remind us that hurricanes are not merely natural but human-made disasters – the result of global capitalism and climate injustice: “Our islands contribute less than 1% of global emissions, yet we are hit hardest by hurricanes, rising seas, and bleaching reefs.”
Jamaica and the other islands affected, particularly Cuba and Haiti, will need support to rebuild. By renting our curated films during the Caribbean Film Days between November 22–30 and/or attending our fundraising film event in Amsterdam on November 22, you are already contributing to Hurricane Melissa Relief efforts. If you would like to make an additional donation, you can contact us by email or transfer your contribution to our bank account (NL 89 RABO 0137 8232 31 FAO Caribbean Creativity) or PayPal (info@caribbeancreativity.nl), including “Donation” or “Gift” in the comment section.
