About me

Since 1996 I have been working with local partner organizations in fragile contexts of Niger, Cameroon, Northern Uganda, Eastern Congo and Burundi, where I acquired thorough understanding of the prerequisites of working in a conflict-sensitive way. Assessment of new project/programme proposals, formalizing contracts, and monitoring & evaluation of ongoing projects/programmes formed the core of my work.

After finishing my MSc at Wageningen University I gained four years of field experience in Niger (West Africa). This fed the rest of my career in international development cooperation where I worked with Oxfam Novib, SNV Netherlands and Mensen met een Missie.

Over the last ten years I integrated in my work as Programme Officer with the development of trustworthy relationships with local partner organizations as well as relevant donor agencies. Working on programmes funded by private foundations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies made me familiar with different sets of accountability mechanisms and reporting requirements.

I feel at ease collaborating with different stakeholders in the search for new insights and added value. It’s my conviction that complementarity and creativity within a teamwork approach yields the best results.
